Rockville, Maryland – July 30, 2018 – M.R. Electricians, a leading family-owned electrical contractor serving commercial and residential clients throughout Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia, announced that its founder, Mark Dols, has been appointed by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett to serve on the Board of Electrical Examiners in the position of Electrical Contractor Representative. The Board is primarily responsible for protecting the general public from unsafe practices and for maintaining standards of professional competence.

To meet its objectives, the Board of Electrical Examiners develops standards for professional proficiency and administers the electrical licensing exam for the County. It conducts hearings, and recommends the denial, suspension, or revocation of electrical licenses. In addition, the Board advises the Director of Permitting Services on standards and regulations related to electrical licenses and permits. The Board also reviews the electrical code and advises the County Executive and the County Council on considered changes.

The Montgomery County Board of Electrical Examiners consists of five members appointed for three- year terms by the County Executive, with County Council consent. Dols’ first term appointment will end in November, 2020. His strong electrical services acumen and professionalism, coupled with recommendations from respected area leaders, were significant factors in his selection.
